Baby Cashmere is very rare, and can only be obtained once in a young goat's life. When the Baby is 3 to 12 months old, it is collected using a gentle combing process. Each kid can produce no more than 30 grams of usable undercoat (adult goats can produce around 250 grams), so the amount of undercoat fiber from 19 kids is enough to make a sweater.
